A: Occasionally, we get a customer who mistakenly thinks that our Snow Machines work on the same principle as the snowmaking
machines used to add snow the ski trails at large resorts. While the output of both devices may look similar, the two machines are
actually putting out very different substances.
The large snowmaking machines that are used at ski resorts shoot very cold, atomized water into the air, where it freezes into
something like actual snowflakes and falls back to the ground. While you could, in theory, use a machine like this for your event it
has two major disadvantages.
1) The machines used to make real snow are very big, very noisy and very expensive.
2) You would need to find a way to keep your location cooled to about 26 degrees Fahrenheit. In Florida? Unless you are a ice rink,
Theatrical snow machines offer the look of real snow without the mess, discomfort or expense that would be involved with
producing real snow. These machines work on principles similar to our bubble machines. Snow fluid (which is like a very "dry"
bubble fluid) is blown through a fabric "sock" to create thousands of tiny bubbles of foam. These bubbles clump together and float
gently to the ground, creating a realistic looking snow that disappears with out a trace.
A: Evaporative Snow™ is a laboratory formulated foam based solution that makes the brightest looking evaporative snow product.
It is 98 percent water and two percent surfactant. Surfactants are elastic chemicals that make the hollow flakes. This solution, used
in our snow machines, creates a realist looking snowfall. The solution is air aerated at 1/10,000. The water starts to evaporate
making the flakes become smaller and lighter until they disappear. The surfactant chemical becomes microscopic particles. The
surfactants used are of the highest cosmetic grade possible. They are non-allergenic, bio degradable, non-toxic and non-staining.
A: When the machines are used properly, they leave no moisture. For years Evaporative Snow™ has been making it snow on
millions of visitors in theme parks, and events like yours. We have never received one compliant of staining.
A: The product, used with the right settings, can be run continually without causing any slippery surfaces. This can be achieved by
setting the flake size to start evaporating before it hits the ground.
A: Many caters and event planners use this product as part of a display, entrance ways to a party or as a “wow” effect as guests sit
to have a full course meal. It is also used for many weddings as the bride and groom cut the cake. It is even kosher. Back To Top
